Eclectic. This was the word used to describe the collection of gleaming cars that had just completed the first part of the route without incident.
With over 70 years of motoring represented and smiles all round, the Carbs and Coffee group set off for the next challenge – the fog over Theewaterskloof Dam.
The reward on the other side of the fog would be Franschhoek Pass. All we hoped was that the fog would lift by the time we arrived. Our wish was granted. Over 10kms of sheer driving bliss confirmed what we already knew – you don’t need to be a millionaire to experience some of the finest cars ever built.
You just need an eye for something…classic, be it a 70 year old hot rod or a 10 year old hot hatch.
And finally, one of the prettiest engine bays of all time, reflecting her admirers. Grazie, Busso.
